Living in London

Submitted by Sheila Ward on the 2013 fall semester program in London, England…

I’ve been in London for a little over a week now and I can fairly say that living here has greatly exceeded my expectations thus far. I and everyone else from UD live in Ealing, which is a suburb right outside Central London. It actually reminds me a lot of Newark, Delaware. Ealing has one long main road with all different types of shops, pubs, and restaurants. So it’s nice that we don’t have to go too far to get groceries or other necessities. However, there’s not much of a nightlife here.  Ealing is about a 30 minute tube ride from Central London so you definitely have to plan your night in advance if you want to go out someplace other than Ealing. But, I do really enjoy living in Ealing. It’s nice to get to experience both the hustle and bustle of Central London and also the suburbs of London.
