I have been here almost a week now and it is starting to feel like home. I know which metro to take and just how late I can leave to make it to class on time. I’ve figured out not to tip in restaurants or wear sneakers or talk loudly in English anywhere. Thanks to many years of education at a French school and some preparatory internet research, I am not experiencing the typical culture shock. I was prepared to eat dinner later, drink coffee more often and hold my bag close to me on the metro. This is not to say I knew everything though. With everyday and every interaction I have, I learn something new about the French culture, language or way of life. There is so much to see and do in this beautiful country and I am so excited for every adventure coming my way!
