Mount Vesuvius

Ciao!  We just got back to our base, Genoa, yesterday after a wonderful long weekend in Naples and Rome!  This picture is of our group at the top of Mount Vesuvius.  Mount Vesuvius is best known for the destruction it caused to the city of Pompeii, which we visited the day before.   Mount Vesuvius is considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world due to the large population in the surrounding areas.  We also went to Rome and we all loved it!  We were able to see the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Forum, and the Vatican.
