First Days in Rome

Submitted by Christopher Hartung on the 2013 winter session program in Italy sponsored by the Department of Philosophy…

So far, Rome has been amazing. We’ve mostly been spending our free time wandering around the city, visiting a lot of beautiful churches (including three of the Catholic Church’s four major basilicas) and historic locations. We also went to a Mass celebrated by the Pope and visited the catacombs and a Capuchin crypt. It’s been a very busy week, but it was worth it, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the month brings.
