Cooking Class in France

Submitted by Michelle Norton on the 2013 winter session program in Paris and Switzerland sponsored by the School of Nursing..

For our final week in Paris we got the chance to take a French cooking class! Everything we ate we prepared ourselves with the help of the chefs. All of the food was delicious, and for many of us it was foods that we had never tried before. When we arrived in the morning , we were served fresh range juice, coffee, and croissants. For the meal, we enjoyed half cooked salmon with pumpkin chutney and grapefruit, as well as truffle stuffed chicken breast with potato and celery root au gratin. For dessert, we ate caramelized pineapple with a coconut biscuit and passion fruit infused cream, along with a small coffee and a pistachio cake. This class was a great experience. We all learned new cooking techniques, and the chefs are emailing us the recipes so we can share this delicious meal with our friends and family at home.
