Buying Books in London

Submitted by Sara Feldman on the 2012 spring semester program in London, England…

Since landing in London two weeks ago, the city still amazes me. I find the simplest of tasks turns into adventures. For example, Sunday I went to a local bookstore to get all the books I need for classes.  While walking to the bookstore, I found a cute Italian Cafe (and since lattes are my new addiction here) I stopped in.  When I went to sit down at a table,  I realized that I was staring out the glass panels at the sun setting on the Thames River with a gorgeous view of the London skyline. The view was so breathtaking,  I had to take a minute to appreciate that I’m currently living across the Atlantic in such a cultural city. Afterwards, on my walk back to the flat, I came across a farmers market. I went around tasting all the locals foods. Let me tell you, I’ve never tasted such divine foods before! Who thought going to buy your school books could be so fun?
