Friday was a big day of exploring Inhotim. Most of it was spent in a torrential downpour but that didn’t stop us from seeing plenty of exhibits and walking throughout the museum and interacting with the art. Many of us loved one exhibit that had multiple rooms to play in. For example, one room had balloons and another had giant pillows to fight with. In between exhibits, we were able to hop on a tram to get to the next location which was super fun! We learned a lot about not only culture in Brazil, but other cultures through the art at the museums. One exhibit communicated about communism through its use of videos. A few of the students here noticed that the Brazilian artist they did a presentation on, was featured at the museum. Around the park, a lot of the beauty was focused on nature including water, plants, and animals. This reinforces the idea that in Brazil, the environment is a key factor in its culture and is what makes Brazil so special and who they are. After leaving the museum, we spent a few hours in the van singing songs until we arrived in Tiradentes.
