BIOGRAPHY

Caroline is currently working on the Multistakeholder Disaster Risk Management (MDRM) a computational framework for hurricane preparedness for single-family homes. The MDRM framework will serve as a policy tool to evaluate hurricane preparedness policy options and their impacts on affected stakeholders at a regional scale; including homeowners, government, and primary insurers. She is currently working on the Dynamic Building Inventory portion of the MDRM framework, which aims to predict the location of new housing units in the future using machine learning methods.

Caroline is working under Dr. Rachel Davidson (UD), in collaboration with Dr. Joseph Trainor (UD), Dr. Linda Nozick (Cornell University), and Dr. Jamie Kruse (East Carolina University). The MDRM project is funded by NSF. Caroline Williams is a Ph.D. student in the Civil & Environmental Engineering department at the University of Delaware. She holds a Master of Philosophy degree in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Minor in Material Science from Michigan State University. Caroline has a range of work experiences, including civil engineering consultancy and international development work.
