The University of Delaware Sailing Team was founded in 1965. Now, it runs as club sports team with both beginners and competitive racers. We teach beginners the basics of sailing, racing rules and on-the-water etiquette. Experienced, undergraduate racers can compete in many MAISA (Mid Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association) regattas up and down the eastern sea-board. The team currently maintains a fleet of 11 Flying Juniors at the North East River Yacht Club.

Since our move to North East River Yacht Club in 2012, all members have enjoyed learning to sail while forming lifelong friendships with fellow Blue Hens!
