Cheryl Richardson photoCheryl R. Richardson is the Associate Director of the University of Delaware’s Center for Teaching and Assessment of Learning (CTAL). She earned her BA in History from UCLA and Masters in History and PhD in Education from Stanford University. Dr Richardson has several years experience in the public, private, and NGO sectors addressing education and equity. She has developed programs and workshops related to developing teaching practices and environments that account for gender, cultural, and racial differences. In addition to these areas, her research interests include instruction in higher education and professional development of educators.

Through a range of experiences and research, Dr Richardson has developed a deep understanding of the requirements of comprehensive educational development initiatives with an emphasis on high quality teaching and learning practices for all learners and the use of technology to enhance educational quality and impact.

Dr. Richardson currently works with faculty, exploring specific teaching practices that seek to improve learning outcomes for historically marginalized student populations, help students appreciate diverse ideas and people, and encourage students to act with justice.
