Research

Ram’s current research focuses on pathways for renewable energy developments and ecosystem risks and benefits, the sustainability of emerging new energy technologies, and strategies for informing publics and potential host communities. Her written work appears in a number of peer-reviewed journals, including Risk Analysis, Wind Engineering, and Daedalus. Her contributions have been widely recognized by the American Wind Energy Association, the Society for Risk Analysis, the European Energy Research Alliance, and the Ocean Technology Society. Ram’s project work over the years has spanned a range of multidisciplinary topics including, energy use in developing nations, national nuclear waste management, compliance with NEPA (and other environmental) regulations, and lifecycles of energy systems.
