In an effort to get ready for DevConnections I’m making some test posts from different devices to decide what to take.
Currently I’m on the Surface Pro.
Upsides
- Touchscreen
- The keyboard isn’t all that bad
- i5 CPU
- Remote Desktop seems to work fine
Downsides
- OMG this screen is tiny … as I type this the font is miniscule
- Due to the small type, the Touchscreen is unreliable
- Who set the brightness of this screen to “no”
- I can’t seem to get the mobile version of IE to launch
- Limited free disk space (though it’s 70gb)
- 4GB of RAM
- Touchpad isn’t the easiest thing in the world to use
- Power connector is a bit of a pain, and inconveniently placed
- Power cord is extremely short
This post was tolerable to make; the small screen and imprecise touchscreen/touchpad were irritating. The power adapter is a pain as well.
