A new paper “Bilingualism yields language-specific plasticity in left hemisphere’s circuitry for learning to read in young children” has been published in Neuropsychologia. We showed orthography-specific plasticity in the left STG and IFG based on bilingual’s two languages, English-Spanish or English-French, suggesting that the characteristics of a bilingual child’s two languages has a significant impact on the neuro-cognitive architecture for learning to read.
