Welcome to the Alperstein Lab! We are a new lab at the University of Delaware in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry.
Our lab uses interdisciplinary strategies to approach instrumentation development for ultrafast vibrational spectroscopy. We are interested in studying diverse samples with our nonlinear microscopies, including peptide aggregation kinetics, nanoscale temperature images in materials, and protein-plastic interactions.
Lab Core Values
In the Alperstein lab, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment that values diversity and respects individuals regardless of their race, religion, or identity. We believe in staying informed and accountable, which is why our weekly meetings include a discussion on current events related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We encourage our members to speak freely and openly during our regular individual meetings, which fosters a culture of clear and honest communication.
Our collaborative and dynamic approach to science is integral to our process. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of hate and actively promote a safe and respectful workplace for all.
