Values

The Agroecology Lab at University of Delaware works continually to create a welcoming and inclusive environment to all. We strive to promote diversity in our field, promote and contribute to open science, and to make the world a better place with our scientific and outreach work. We work together and support each other in our projects rather than each working alone. We seek to improve the culture in science and academia by empowering lab members to explore diverse paths and succeed in their careers, and finding ways to make our research useful to others. We help each other fight imposter’s syndrome, burnout, and other systemic problems in academia. We highly encourage Black, Indigenous, people of color, and those of underrepresented minority groups to apply to opportunities in the lab. We do not tolerate harassment based on race, religion, nationality, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental abilities, body size, physical appearance, or beliefs.
