Dr. Alex Huddell (she/her) is Assistant Professor of Agroecology/Sustainable Crop Production Systems at the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences at the University of Delaware. She holds a Ph.D. in Ecology from Columbia University and B.A.s in Economics and International Studies from American University. Link to Google Scholar.

Abe Mololuwa Oluwatoba – M.S. Student

Mololuwa was born and raised in Nigeria. He received his B.S degree in Soil Science and Land Management from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. He has extensive experience as an agronomist. In the Fall of 2024, he joined the UD Agroecology Lab to start his MS program. His research investigates the trends and causes of dissolved organic nitrogen (DON) losses and the extent to which these losses are connected across an ecological gradient.

Dylan Brown– M.S. Student

Dylan graduated from Washington College in May 2024 with a B.S. in Environmental Science and minor(s) in Economics & Hispanic Studies. He is a 6th generation farmer & cattle producer on his family’s operation in Southern Maryland. His masters research is primarily investigating Soil Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Fluxes in Perennial & Annual Forage Systems under Livestock Grazing Management.

Asritha Polu - Data Science Collaborator

Asritha is a second-year master's student in Data Science at the University of Delaware, with two years of professional experience in the software industry. Currently, she is working on a project automating processes for handling soil GHG data, focusing on quality assurance, data flagging.

Jacob Fay– Undergraduate Research Assistant and UD Envision Intern (summer 2024)

Jacob is a current research assistant in the lab. In the summer of 2024, he was an intern in the lab through the UD Envision Program, where he developed methodologies for estimating nitrogen uptake and availability for corn plants. Jacob is fascinated by everything that has to do with ecology, therefore he is most excited about working in an agroecology lab and witnessing a side of ecology that he has not experienced before. Jaymar Harris– UD Envision Intern (summer 2024)

Jaymar was an intern in the lab through the UD Envision Program in the summer of 2024, investigating how nitrous oxide emissions fluctuate between different cover crops. Watch his project summary here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqeI5-zCVEw
