MSP 2021-2022 Meetings

Meetings of the Medical Scholars Program are open to any student interested in healthcare. The virtual meetings begin at 4 pm. Below are the dates of our fall semester meetings. Mrs. Caroline Tillman (cwwest@udel.edu) will send an email to all MSP and HPEC students with the Zoom link closer to the meeting date. If you are not in the MSP or registered with HPEC, contact Mrs. Tillman for the Zoom link.

Spring dates

  • April 8. Featured presentation by St. George’s University

Virtual Shadowing

Looking for a free and easy way to gain shadowing hours for medical school? We are aware of two programs.

HEAL is led by doctors and medical school students, accepted by medical schools, and offers real patient encounters. They are also extremely flexible, while live sessions are every Wednesday 8 pm EST recordings are posted up to two weeks for the free shadowing course. Learn more about the life of a doctor, interacting with patients, and hearing about medical school through HEAL!

Prehealth Shadowing is an organization providing virtual shadowing experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Students can get shadowing hours for health programs such as medical, nursing, dental, pharmaceutical, PA, PT, and other health programs. Visit their website for more information

Mentoring Program

A mentoring program is available for students interested in healthcare careers. The program is offered by physicians, physician assistants, and residents with Doctors for Emergency Services at ChristianaCare. Anyone interested is encouraged to contact Dorothy Dixon, MD.

Visit St. George’s University

See SGU is a unique program that offers students an opportunity to visit St. George’s University in Granada, speak to faculty and students and see where they will be living while they start their medical training. If you apply, get accepted and ultimately matriculate, SGU will refund your airfare and hotel costs for the trip.
