 Taozhu Sun

 Research Interests
Understanding the early-stage pathogen contamination and decontamination mechanisms involved in fresh produce by linking their surface properties (e.g., topography, roughness, hydrophobicity); developing effective disinfection strategies for removing foodborne hazards from complex fresh produce surfaces and other food-contact surfaces.Phone: (302)-563-0084

B.S. Environmental Science, University of Heilongjiang, 2012

Mohammad Z. Afsar

Research Interests
(1) To study the mobilization and stability of soil colloids in dynamic redox oscillation condition. (2) to quantify the dissolved and colloidal organic matter and their influence on biogeochemical cycles in wetland ecosystems.

 Anna Jurusik

Research interests
Understanding and visualizing biocolloid attachment and proliferation on natural and engineered produce surfaces with emphasis on the influence of surface properties, hydrodynamic flow, and modeled natural conditions (e.g., nutrient availability, evaporation) in the interests of developing predictive models and mitigation methods for preventative measures in food safety.Phone: (302)-236-6681

 Weila Li

Research interests
I’m interested in the long-scale persistence of soil organic matter and how soil will respond to climate change. My research is working on the downwards transport of soil colloid in wetland soil system and to understand how its related to the biogeochemical cycling of organic carbon under dynamic redox condition.Phone: (302)-333-3097

Shane Franklin

Research interests

Examining how the spatial heterogeneity of moisture in soil affects carbon turnover. Specifically, evaluating the role of preferential flow paths as microbial hotspots and biogeochemical entities rather than just conduits of flow. Other interests include transport processes and dynamic hydrology.
