Healthy Choices and Halloween

Tis’ the season of pumpkin spice flavored everything from coffees, cereals, snacks, and desserts. As well as pumpkin-buckets filled with candy in every direction you look. Temptation, in the form of sugar, is everywhere. Resisting every single opportunity to splurge and eat everything can be exhausting!
Here’s what you should do…
1. Prohibit the buckets of candy at and around your desk at work and at home. Removing the temptation is the easiest way to ensure you do not mindlessly reach for yet another piece of candy.
2. If you cannot completely remove the candy from your work do your best to avoid walking past it and taking a few pieces for yourself.
3. Buy or make your own healthier treats to share! This will encourage you and the people around you to choose the better option!
4. Pack a healthy lunch and snack that will keep you full and not wanting to grab for the halloween candy! Also remember to drink plenty of water! If you are looking for something to chew on pop in a stick of gum instead!
5. Having a few pieces of candy is okay! Set yourself limits, for example tell yourself and others to hold you accountable to not having more than 3 miniature pieces of candy a day! This will allow you to be in control and still be able to enjoy this time of the year without feeling like you are missing out!
