Aaron Rosenthal is the Senior Research Specialist with the Council on Criminal Justice. Previously, Rosenthal served as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Simmons University. His research is focused at the intersection of criminal justice policy and American democracy, as featured in his forthcoming book The State You See: How Government Visibility Creates Political Distrust and Racial Inequality. Rosenthal holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Minnesota and serves as a research advisor for the YEP project.

Alexis Wrease is currently the Communications Coordinator and Legislative Assistant for the Delaware State Senate Majority Caucus. Currently, she directly staffs the Chair of the Senate Education Committee. Additionally, she utilizes communications strategies to increase awareness and support the passage of a variety of legislation regarding education, health care, criminal justice policy reform and more. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Delaware where she studied Public Policy, Public Relations, and Spanish. Her research interests include education, criminal justice, and social policies with a focus on how marginalized communities are impacted and can be best served.

Alyn Turner specializes in designing and conducting mixed-methods evaluations and research studies to address program- and policy-relevant issues in the areas of early childhood and K-12 education. Turner serves as the Director of Quantitative Research, where she oversees a team of ten quantitative researchers and provides strategic oversight and direction for a multitude of evaluation projects and research studies.

​Calaia S. Jackson is a third-year doctoral student in the Public Policy and Administration Ph.D. program at the Biden School of Public Policy and Administration at The University of Delaware. Her dissertation research examines the civic, political, and health consequences of exposure to various discipline policies and practices in public K-12 schools.

Donatus Doe

​Donatus Doe is a Ph.D. Student in Education and Social Policy at the University of Delaware. Prior to joining the University of Delaware, he worked with the Aga Khan Foundation’s Madrasa Early Childhood Programme in Zanzibar, Tanzania, as a Community-Based Inclusive Development (CBID) Project Officer Intern. His research interests are in understanding the processes and complexities in youths’ school-to-work transitions, civil society organizations’ (especially nonprofits’) activism in development, and social policy influences in the making of citizens and political socialization.

Justis Freeman is currently a Senior Associate Researcher with the Equity Research Cooperative, a non-profit research collective that advances the social, economic, education, and political interests of communities of color through research and redistribution. He brings several years of experience in education program evaluation, survey research, data management, and critical quantitative methods. Justis recently served as a Senior Research Analyst at Research for Action, an education research organization based in Philadelphia.

Sarah Bruch

Sarah K. Bruch is an associate professor at the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy and Administration and the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at the University of Delaware. Her research examines social inequality and policy. Areas of focus include the politics and consequences of social and education policies, particularly in relation to race and racial inequality, and how experiences of public authority impact civic and political engagement and citizenship.
