Teaching

I strongly believe in science outreach and communication to maintain the future workforce in geology, as well as create more science-literate students and adults. This has guided my volunteer and other teaching experiences as outlined below:

  • Maryland Science Olympiad (Baltimore, MD) – Event Co-Supervisor (Dynamic Planet, Geologic Mapping), Spring 2023
  • Delaware High School Science Olympiad (Dover, DE) – Event Co-Supervisor (Dynamic Planet, Geologic Mapping), Spring 2023, Spring 2022, Spring 2020
  • Carnegie Museum of Natural History (Pittsburgh, PA) – Collections/Research Assistant, Spring 2018-2023
  • Governor’s Institute of Vermont (Burlington, VT) – Assistant Faculty, Summer 2019
  • Governor’s Institute of Vermont (Burlington, VT) – Assistant Faculty, Summer 2018
  • Perkins Museum Environmental Science Day Camp (Burlington, VT) – Assistant Teacher, Summer 2016

At the University of Delaware, I was a teaching assistant for introductory and upper-level Earth Science courses. These courses include Sedimentology & Stratigraphy (GEOL304)-Fall 2021, Fall 2020; Earth’s Evolving Systems (GEOL110)-Spring 2022, Spring 2021, Spring 2020; Earth Science for Education majors (GEOL113)-Summer 2020; and Geology of Dynamic Earth (GEOL107)-Fall 2019.
