The Material Culture Living Learning Community is made up of anthropology, art history and art conservation freshmen who are passionate about material culture and are living in Lane Hall this year!
So what is material culture? According to our own UD page for Material Culture… “Material culture studies is an interdisciplinary field that examines the relationship between people and their things, the making, history, preservation, and interpretation of objects.” Yes, we are all passionate about material culture, and we are exploring aspects together each Thursday evening.
So what is a Living Learning Community? It is a residence hall-based community that supports the interests of the members and has significant opportunities for service-related activities. It encourages strong engagement with fellow students, faculty and the campus community. This blog is a product of one of the service commitments the students have made this year. We will regularly update the blog with new postings highlighting the 100 year history of Women @ UD. Thank you for your interest!
