2010s: Following a series of high profile sexual abuse scandals in the 2000s, by 2010 the fight to address all forms of gender-based violence was in full-swing, including in the military and the halls of congress, but also on college campuses. Once again, ahead of the curve, the women and gender studies program, under the leadership of Jennifer Naccarelli, developed the first, and only, undergraduate curriculum that trains students in cutting edge approaches to addressing and preventing gender-based violence. The Domestic Violence Prevention and Services (DVPS) program, launched in 2011, has, to date, trained nearly every advocate in the state of Delaware. The success of this program led to the founding in 2020 of the Center for the Study & Prevention of Gender-Based Violence.
