What exactly is a wellinar?

It’s a live 30 to 60 minute interactive webinar with a focus on topics related to wellbeing. A new topic will be covered each month. 

Who can participate?

Wellinars are accessible to all University of Delaware employees, spouses, and retirees. Monthly event registration is required.

March to Fitness

In this 3-part progressive series, learn the basics, guidelines, and benefits of exercise and how we can personalize our routines to best target our specific fitness goals. It is recommended that all attendees come each week to be able to apply the learned information to their daily fitness routine.

  • March 13th @ 12pm – 12:30pm – Fitness Fact or Fiction – There is so much information floating around about exercise, that it’s sometimes hard to discern fact from myth. In this workshop, we will review beginner information about the recommendations of exercise and recovery to create a knowledgeable foundation to build a fitness routine. Financial Wellbeing: Managing your economic life well and having a healthy relationship with money

Whether you’re already retired, nearing retirement or years away, it’s never too early or too late to put strategies in place for a more secure retirement, including learning about ways to have dependable monthly income for life.

Physical Wellbeing: Having good health and enough energy to get things done each day that are important to you.

  • Employee Orientation to EAP and Work/Life Website Services: Occasionally, all of us are troubled by personal, family or work problems. These concerns may be minor. However, if they weigh on your mind, they can affect your relationships and daily work performance. Before that happens, it’s wise to seek help. This workshop provides an overview of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefit and the numerous ways that the EAP can help. We also review the Work/Life website, highlighting the many tools and resources available 24/7. Confidentiality of the program is stressed.

 

  • Workplace Ergonomics: Are you putting yourself at an increased risk for musculoskeletal health issues? Find out in this months live Wellinar hosted by Environmental Health & Safety. The presentation will primarily focus on the principles of applied ergonomics in the workplace including the identification of risk factors and proper workstation adjustments. It will also touch on topics outside of the workplace such as electronic devices and proper backpack usage.
Purpose

Purpose: Feeling driven and connected to what is important to you and feeling motivated to achieve your goals

  • Shaping Your Purpose: Purpose is what you find most important in life. It’s what drives you to do your best and be your best. People with a strong sense of purpose are happier, live longer, sleep better, recover faster, and have a bigger impact on the people, organizations, and causes they care about.
