Our department offers many free programs and events throughout the year to ensure all health and wellbeing needs are met on campus.  Some of our events are open to the public as well as families.  We also continue to partner with many groups across campus to maximize our community impact and deliver holistic and comprehensive of health and wellbeing resources to you.



Conversations on Health, Wellbeing, and Prevention 

  • September 25th, 5-6:30pm @ UD Health (STAR 1) – Aging Well 
    Aging is an inevitable part of life.  While you can’t control the natural progression of aging, there are many things inside your control that can help you age well.  This session will examine how you can set yourself up for feeling good through your golden years.
  • November 14th, 5-6:30pm @ UD Health (STAR 1)- Sleep & Mental Health Connection
    This session will examine the impact of sleep on mental health and wellbeing.  Poor sleep is linked to physical problems such as a weakened immune system and mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.  Come to learn how to increase your quality of sleep to promote your best sleep hygiene.

November 3rd, 10am-3pm @ Tower at STAR (4th floor, IPE room)- A Day of Mindfulness 
Join us for an immersive day of mindfulness.  This is a radically fresh approach to “goals” that will help you to identify and release limiting beliefs and bring deeper clarity and possibility to your life as you move forward in the year ahead.

A healthy diet doesn’t have to be expensive.  Learn some universal tips and tricks on how to eat healthy, on a budget at the places you love to shop.

Bring Your Best Self to Work (November 1st, 8th, and 15th)

In this FREE three-part series led by University of Delaware health professionals and trusted partners, you will learn how to improve various areas of your wellbeing. Each session will cover a distinct, yet related topic. The series is open to all University of Delaware Employees, Spouses, and Retirees. You are welcome to attend one, two, or all three sessions.

Our November series focuses on bringing your best self to work. Each session will begin with 30-minutes of yoga (optional), and light breakfast with coffee followed by an hour long workshop. Learn More..

September 13th, 12-1pm (Trabant 209/211) – Practical Wellbeing 
In this workshop, you will explore ways to maximize your mental, emotional and physical wellbeing throughout your daily life to boost your mood and productivity.

ANEW – Begins September 12th (6 week series) 5-6:30pm at UD Health (STAR 1)
The University of Delaware continues to offer a program aimed at helping women improve their health through nutrition, exercise and wellbeing group coaching sessions.  These sessions will increase your overall understanding of personal nutrition and exercise and support healthy lifestyle change through targeted goal setting.

Sept. 18th, 10am-1pm @ Perkins Gallery and Williamson Room – Wellbeing on the Green
Wellbeing on the Green is taking place on Sept. 18th on the South Green in front of Memorial Hall/Morris Library. No registration necessary. The event offers free fitness classes, light refreshments, body fat/blood pressure screenings, informational tables from STAR Health Coaching, Employee Health & Wellbeing, Environmental Health & Safety, and more! Pick-up an EHW swag bag and enter for a chance to win a Varidesk Sit-stand desk. The fitness class schedule is as follows (no registration required): 10:45 – 11:15am: Yoga; 11:30 – 12pm: Pilates; 12:00-12:30pm: Couch to 5k meet up/ Group walk around the green; 12:15 -12:45pm: Boot camp (no equipment).

October 4th, 12-1pm (Trabant 209/211) – Fueling for Exercise 
This workshop will teach you all about proper nutrition for maximizing your workout and post-exercise recovery. Please note: the workshop scheduled on 10/2 has been cancelled due to low participation. If you would still like to attend on 10/4 slots are available.

October 24th, 5:30pm race start @ Delaware Stadium (Big Bob) – Homecoming 5K 
The Homecoming 5K is open to anyone who would like to participate.  It is a flat course starting and finishing at the Delaware Stadium. This out and back route through the Nelson Athletic Complex and the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, will take you on a tour of the stadiums, fields and farms on UD’s south campus.  Finish inside the stadium at the 50 yard line! October 25th, 10am-2pm @ UD Health (STAR 1) – UD Health: Employee Health and Wellbeing Fair
Join us on STAR Campus where employees can learn and connect to the UD Health resources available to them.  We are also providing biometric screenings and education.  The screenings will include cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure and BMI. Each UD Health clinic will host a table to provide educational information and a friendly face to discuss health services available.
