Employee Appreciation Week!

June 4- June 8, 2018

This week-long celebration is meant to honor all that you have accomplished for the University over the past year. Some events will allow you to take a breath and reflect on the year with your colleagues. Others will allow you to unwind and spend time with your family. We welcome all employees to any/all of the events!

Monday, June 4: UDid It Picnic

11-1:30pm, Trabant University Center (Due to Weather)
The annual tradition continues! Join your colleagues on The Green for lunch to celebrate another successful year at UD. There will be food, music, and yard games to kick off this week that is all about YOU!
 

Tuesday, June 5: Self-Care Day

11:00am-2:00pm, The South Green
With all of the hard work you have put in this year, this day is meant to help you unwind and de-stress. Visit us on the green for:
PAWS for People, a local, nonprofit organization, will be on The Green with their certified pet-therapy dogs from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for you to pet and play with.
Outdoor Yoga classes will be held from 11 a.m.-11:45 a.m. and 12 p.m.-12:45 p.m. Mats will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. Register Here
Free Chair Massage will be offered from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The certified massage therapists will offer 5 minutes massages. Appointments are strongly encouraged, as this is very popular and often fills up fast! Register Here                
Self-Care Table: Join us today at the self-care experience table with On the Goga! Discuss self-care and fill out your own self-care calendar to help you lower stress and increase happiness every day. Stop and fill out a calendar and be entered to win the self-care University of Delaware gift basket complete with everything you need to make self-care a daily habit.

Wednesday, June 6: Human Resources Speaker Series 

2:00pm, Kirkbride Hall Room 004:
Alan Brangman, executive vice president and University treasurer, will give a presentation on his experiences related to leadership and management, and initiatives to assist and engage UD employees. The event launches HR’s new speaker series, which will give employees the opportunity to hear from internal and external experts on key topics including management, organizational psychology, emotional intelligence, diversity and more. Register here.

Wednesday, June 6: Movie Night

6:00pm, The Trabant Theater
Join us for a family friendly movie night in the Trabant Theater. For this event, we will be showing the movie Moana. All you need to do is bring your family and have fun! Register Here

 

 

Thursday, June 7: Spirit Day Contest with Appreciation Stations

11:00am-1:00pm, The South Green
Spirit Contest Returns: UD has employees from both near and far. To show the global impact that UD has, we encourage everyone to represent their alma mater on this day. Whether you’re from Newark or Beijing, wear your school colors with pride! Snap a photo of your team and email it to wellbeing@udel.edu. Visit the UD Employees Facebook Page to view all of the teams who have sent in photos.. The team with the most likes on Facebook by Friday, June 15 will receive a day of wellbeing.
Appreciation Stations: Visit us on the North Green from 11:00am-1:00pm to participate in four interactive stations. You can build your own flower arrangement, learn how to be your own barista at the café station, receive financial mindset coaching, and visit the photo booth station where you can snap a picture with your colleagues for the spirit day contest.

Friday, June 8: Employee Appreciation Night with the Blue Rocks

7:05pm, Frawley Stadium
Join us for a game at Frawley Stadium to cheer on our Wilmington Blue Rocks as they take on the Frederick Keys, followed by post-game fireworks. UD has reserved the third base picnic area. Your ticket will allow you entry to the game and access to the picnic buffet dinner. A photographer will be present at the game to snap some pictures of you and your friends/family. Pictures will be available after the game. Please be in the reserved UD Picnic Area at 7:30pm for a group photo.
