Hi! My name is Vladislav Taranchuk, though I usually just go by Vlad. I received my Ph.D. under Dr. Felix Lazebnik at the University of Delaware in May 2023. Currently, I am a (Temporary) Assistant Professor at the University of Delaware. This coming spring semester I am teaching Math 113 (Contemporary Mathematics) and Math 549 (Coding Theory and Cryptography). My CV (December 2022) is available for viewing here.

I have a passion for research in mathematics, particularly in the areas of extremal combinatorics, algebraic graph theory, and finite geometry. A list of my publication, pre-prints, presentations, and related links can be found under the Research tab.

I also have a passion for teaching! More information about my teaching experience, as well as access some teaching materials can be found under the Teaching tab.

When I’m not doing math, I enjoy playing guitar, and have even dabbled in writing some cinematic music. It has been a while since I have written any music, and I cannot say when I will be able to return to it, but if you are interested, then you can visit my soundcloud here.

I also have been developing an interest in running. My most recent accomplishment was running the Philadelphia Marathon in 2021. I finished in about 4 hours and 40 minutes, and now have plans to improve that time as much as I can before my next marathon. I also enjoy hiking outdoors, the picture above is one that I took myself at Yosemite National Park.
