VCATVeterans and College Athletes Together
VCAT is a free health and wellness program for OIF and OEF veterans funded and hosted by the College of Health Sciences at the University of Delaware. During the 12-week program, veterans are paired with student-athletes to attend two workouts and wellness classes on campus per week. Student athletes are workout buddies for the 75-minute sessions. The athletes serve as workout partners, accountability buddies, and a friendly connection to our University community.
Each workout session is accompanied by a one-hour wellness class that includes a healthy meal. Wellness topics include sleep, exercise, meditation, nutrition, spirituality, and more.
VCAT envisions a future where colleges and universities around the nation (and perhaps the globe) will join with the University of Delaware to implement this program on their campuses and welcome their community veterans
