Natalie Baysinger

My name is Natalie Baysinger (she/her/hers) and I am a sophomore from Ellicott City, MD. I am majoring in Public Policy and am currently exploring adding a second major in the math field! In addition to BHLP, I am a member of the Community Engagement Scholars and the World Scholars. When I am not studying, you can often find me relaxing in the sun outside, with my friends in a dining hall, or in Perkins enjoying the games! I know that participating in BHLP as an incoming freshman at UD changed my college career drastically for the better. It gave me a safe space to adjust to the campus and college environment, while simultaneously bringing me lifelong friends and helping me grow into a better leader and person. I hope to bring all of you the loads of laughter and joy, and the growth that this opportunity offers. If I could offer you a piece of advice for the transition to college and UD, I would just say to appreciate every moment you’ve got, and use this chance to your advantage to become that person you’ve always wanted to be.

AJ Newman

Hi!! My name is AJ Newman (She/Her) and I am a sophomore Medical Diagnostics major on the Pre-PA track from Brick, New Jersey. In addition to Tier 2 of BHLP, you will be able to find me at Veg Club meetings, or hiking with UDOC. I am passionate about the environment, and take any chance I get to spend time outside. In my free time I hang out with friends, relax on the green, go hiking all around Delaware, or paint on the north turf. QUEST and BHLP absolutely helped make my freshman year amazing and I am excited to see your journey and growth here at UD!

Malika Iyer

My name is Malika Iyer (she/her/hers) and I am so excited to be one of your Peer Mentors! I am a sophomore mechanical engineering major in the grand challenges scholars program with a minor in computer science. I am an international student who currently lives in Nigeria, but is originally from India. I have been involved at UD as a First-Year Fellow in the Honors College, doing research with the Center for Composite Materials, A Capella, BHLP Tier 2, and so much more. In my free time, I love watching tv shows and moves with my friends, eating on main street, playing and singing with my ukulele and exploring new places. Doing the QUEST program my freshman year was one of the best decisions I ever made because I made life-long friends and mentors in the process, and I can’t wait to help create the same experience for you all too!

Gabriel Ma

Hey everyone! My name is Gabriel Ma (he/him/his) and I am a sophomore Biomedical Engineering major with a minor in Biological Sciences on the pre-medical track. I am from Wallingford, Pennsylvania. At UD I am involved in BME undergraduate research at Star Campus, Tier 2 of BHLP, Honors Engaging in Neighborhood Services, Ultimate Frisbee, and Community Fellows for the Honors College. During my free time, I enjoy blasting music in the car with friends, playing different genres of songs on the guitar, volunteering at community service projects, and binge-watching YouTube and TikTok. Doing QUEST my first year was one of the best decisions as I not only developed key leadership skills, but also met some of my best friends. I am so excited to meet all of you and can’t wait to help you all begin your 4-year journey at UD!

Patrick Hemingway

Hello!  I’m Patrick Hemingway (he, him, his), a Sophomore Computer Engineering Major.  I am a part of the BHLP family, Greek life and AMT.  When I’m not studying, you can typically catch me in Perkins or getting Playa Bowls and Coffee on Main St.  I also love to play intramurals with my Brothers.  This summer I’m working as an intern for Travelers Insurance on their AI and data flow team.  I am also researching the most efficient ways to conduct data.  BHLP has been a large influence on my life over the last year and now.  It has helped me build confidence and grit.  It’s given me skills and a supportive group of friends that aid me in accomplishing my goals.  Goals and ideas I didn’t think were feasible.  As a piece of advice starting at UD or any school.  From the day you step on campus you’re surrounded with tools designed for you to grow and build yourself into the person you want to be; reach out and use them. College is a clean slate covered with ladders and slides, climb the ladders.

Jackson Tomasco

My name is Jackson Tomasco (he/him/his). I am a sophomore year Nursing major from Fairfax VA, and I am INCREDIBLY EXCITED to be your QUEST peer mentor this year! On campus I am actively involved in Adaptive Medical Technologies Club, Outing Club, and Men in Nursing. In BHLP I am a Tier 1 member and am super excited for what comes next in BHLP! If I am not in class or studying, which I do quite a lot, you can find me playing basketball in the Little Bob, hammocking around campus, or hanging with friends on the North campus turf. In my free time I enjoy playing video games, working in the makers gym, listening to whatever music I’m feeling in the mood for, or walking outside enjoying the fresh air. I am a diehard Eagles fan but an even bigger fan of you for signing up for QUEST! I began my time in BHLP in LEAP (my freshman year version of QUEST) and it was the best thing I’ve done at UD as of yet! I can’t wait to see you soon and have a great time.
