Mackenzie Dabbs

Hi everyone!! My name is Mackenzie Dabbs (she/her/hers) and I am a sophomore Nursing major from Ellicott City, Maryland.  My goal is to become a nurse for the Navy post-college so hopefully that happens! On campus I am involved in BHLP, the sorority Alpha Delta Pi, the Student Nurses Organization, Ascend, etc.  When not focusing on school, I enjoy spending time with friends, working out, listening to music, and especially going to the beach/ eating ice cream.  LEAP really helped me have a smooth transition into college and build great relationships. I was able to learn so much about my leadership strengths and the qualities I value in life.  I am so excited to be a peer mentor and help create a great experience for all of you!

Brian Chansky

Hi! My name is Brian Chansky (he/him/his) and I am a sophomore Marine Science and Wildlife Ecology & Conservation double major from Framingham, MA. Other than participating in BHLP Tier 2, I also serve as a Student Affairs Senator in UD Student Government Association, a UD Student Alumni Ambassador, and am a member of the Men’s Club Volleyball team. When I’m not busy with classes or one of my many clubs, you can probably find me playing frisbee, spikeball, or volleyball on the Harrington Turf. Outside of UD, I love to spend my time outside, listening to music, playing sports, and taking spontaneous beach trips! Joining QUEST was the best decision I made since I decided to come to UD, since it allowed me to connect with campus before coming while also developing my leadership skills, and I can’t wait to help provide the same experience for you!

Lauren Leader

Hey all! My name is Lauren Leader (she/her/hers) and I’m from Macungie, Pennsylvania. I’m a junior Exercise Science major and Spanish for Healthcare minor and I’m planning to go to grad school for physical therapy. I’m a part of BHLP Tier 3 and I am also a member of the exercise science and physical therapy clubs at UD. I also volunteer at the UDPT clinic on Star Campus. When I’m not doing work, I like to read, listen to music, and spend time with my friends. On the weekends you can usually find me somewhere around campus, exploring Newark, or taking a day trip to the beach. Joining BHLP was one of the best decisions I made my freshman year because it introduced me to some of my closest friends and it got me involved with the school and community. I’m so excited to meet you all and get to know you!

Julia Brice

My name is Julia Brice (she/her/hers) and I am a junior Health Behavior Science major with a minor in Disability Studies from New Windsor, NY. Besides being involved in Tier 3 of BHLP, I am the assistant music director for Golden Blues acapella. During my free time, I like to create acapella arrangements, binge watch Netflix shows, and spend time with friends. I truly cannot imagine how different my college experience would be had I not participated in LEAP! LEAP allowed me to create new friendships, learn valuable lessons, and make the transition into freshman year so much smoother. I cannot wait to meet you and be a part of your next chapter!

Jenny Ziegler

My name is Jenny Ziegler (she/her/hers) and I’m a Junior from Wheaton Illinois. I am an honors mechanical engineering major with a minor in psychology, integrated design and mathematics. This year I’m looking forward to working with the Mechanical Engineering Student Squad (MESS), UD’s mechanical engineering outreach group, and doing research on campus. I am also very excited to participate in tier 3 of BHLP and learn how to take initiative and help nonprofits flourish. Outside of school, I enjoy listening to a wide variety of podcasts, playing D&D with my friends, and trying to find new music to listen to. I am super excited to start this year of LEAP with everyone. BHLP was a place I got to make some of the best memories and friends of my freshman year, so I can’t wait to see what all of you will do this year.

Jacob Herz

My name is Jacob Herz (he/him/his) and I am super excited to be your LEAP Peer Mentor. I am a junior Media Communications and History and Journalism double minor from Stamford, CT. On-campus, I am in the ComUDy club, a member of Best Buddies, on the club ultimate frisbee team, and a part of the school radio (WVUD) as a basement DJ. In BHLP, I am in Tier 3 and eager for this upcoming year! I am also looking forward to doing a BHLP service trip this year to expand my leadership potential and help others in the process. When I am not in class or doing homework, you can find me hanging out with friends at Trabant, the Green, or the Main Street Movie Theater. Outside of campus in my free time, I enjoy doing puzzles, listening to lots of music, and watching movies. I am super hyped for LEAP this year! It was a great way to start off my freshman year and it has introduced me to a community like no other. Can’t wait to meet you all!
