The UR-ECE (Undergraduate Research in ECE) summer program is targeted at undergraduate students across all in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) programs that have an interest in electrical and computer engineering topics.

Eligibility

  • Sophomore or junior in STEM program
  • Cumulative GPA > 3.0
  • US citizen, US national or permanent resident of the US
  • Preference will be given to those candidates who are from institutions with limited research opportunities, and those who have demonstrated an interest in electrical and computer engineering through their curriculum choices or extracurricular activities

Application Materials

  • a resume of the applicant
  • an unofficial transcript
  • application form including preferred research project(s)
  • an explanation (200+ words) of why participating in undergraduate research is important to the student’s career goals
  • two letters of recommendation

After Admission

Notifications will be sent out by March 20th if they have been accepted to the 2024 UR-ECE REU cohort. Accepted students will submit a brief description of the proposed research project related to the REU theme, written by the student, typically in collaboration with the matched faculty research advisor. Our 2024 program runs from June 3rd through August 9th.
