How We Work

Complete the Online Application

Once you complete the online application the Academic Coordinator will contact your Guidance Counselor for a recommendation, recent report card, transcripts, and state testing.

Summer Academy or Academic Year

Students who register and qualify for Summer Academy will be notified in May. If Summer Academy spaces have been filled you may be offered a chance to begin in the Fall.

Summer Academy 2024

Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:00pm

Summer Academy begins June 17, 2024 and ends July 27, 2024. UBC provides free bus passes to the University of Delaware Campus. Juniors and Seniors who complete all work and are recommended by staff may participate in On-Campus Living Learning weeks 4 and 5. All other students must continue to commute to the program. College Tour will be 5 days and 4 nights out of state week 6.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will I be notified of my acceptance or denial once I submit my application?

Applications are reviewed during recruitment season February-April. Students will be notified of any missing documentation first, such as: Counselor Recommendation, Transcript, Report Cards and Financial Verification form if taxes were not submitted. You may submit all information to the Academic Program Coordinator at any time. All students are notified in May of thier acceptance or denial to the program. Students will be interviewed before acceptance is extended. Please check your emails for updates.

Can I work during the summer and attend the program?

Most upperclassmen in our program work and attend classes during the summer. Remember to give your employer our calendar if you plan to request 4 days off for the college tour. Schedule work hours for the same time you would have if you were in school.

I have a sports camp/practice during the summer is the program flexible on attendance?

Students must attend all class sessions offered. If you are unable to attend program sessions from 8:30am-4:00pm please consider participating during the academic year.

Can I participate in the dorm experience and work?

No. Due to curfew and safety reasons.

Are students supervised while staying in the dorms?

Yes. Our Resident Advisors are on call 24/7 to ensure all students are safe and adhering to the rules and regulations of the University of Delaware.

Do I have to go on college tour?

Students who are unable to attend college tour due to personal reasons must inform the Director.
