Ella is an undergraduate Wildlife Ecology and Conservation and Insect Ecology and Conservation double major at the University of Delaware. She joined the Delaney Lab in the fall of 2022. Her work includes caring for hives in the UD apiary, assisting with hive assessments for graduate work, and extracting and storing honey. Her interests lie in disease ecology with a focus on One Health. She is currently working on a senior thesis project that explores the prevalence of apis diseases in local hoverfly populations, an important but overlooked pollinator. She hopes that this project will help expand the knowledge of how these diseases are vectored.
