Records Access Policy
Public access to historical University records administered through the Archives Program of University Archives and Records Management (UARM) is unrestricted except when particular sets of those records are sealed, either for a defined period of time or permanently. There are no restrictions placed on public access to University records created for the purpose of public distribution, such as course catalogs, newspapers, newsletters, brochures, flyers, websites, broadcast media, etc.
Generally, University records are restricted from public access and use for twenty-five years after their acquisition by UARM, then made available as historical collections administered through the Archives Program. Several other categories of records are sealed for longer lengths of time in order to protect confidentiality and privacy. For information on sealed University records and whether or not the records in which you are interested are available, please contact a member of the UARM staff.
Pursuant to state law (29 Del. C. §100i), records of the open meetings of the full University of Delaware Board of Trustees are available for public access. For information on records for other meetings of the Board of Trustees, please contact a member of the UARM staff.
