UD Fresh to You Graduate Assistantship Opportunity

University of Delaware’s organic vegetable farm, “Fresh to You” is looking for a motivated graduate assistant to join our team! This assistantship will conduct on-farm research and explore the topic of how soil health affects human health. This graduate assistant would have the opportunity to earn a M.S within Department of Plant and Soil Sciences and the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Delaware while gaining valuable hands on experience in vegetable production.

Scope of Responsibility:

Fresh to You is a primarily student run farm right on campus at the University of Delaware. As a graduate assistant, you would conduct your own research with the assistance of farm staff and student interns as well as faculty. In addition to your coursework and research, you will work closely with the Fresh to You farm manager to assist with day to day management on the farm.

Christy is a graduate of the Biden School of Public Policy and Administration at the University of Delaware with a master's in Public Administration. She is the chief operating officer of a local non-profit, 3B Brae’s Brown Bags and a Communications Specialist for the University of Delaware. Her research interests include issues of social justice, such as nutritional insecurity, community re-entry, and domestic violence. She also volunteers with her local school district and has a deep passion for education policy, as she believes many social injustices stem from inequitable opportunities in education.
