Office of Academic Enrichment

The Office of Academic Enrichment has resources available to help those who are struggling academically, as well as those who are successful and looking for ways to sharpen their academic skills.

Tutoring Services

  • Individual Tutors: available for scheduled one-on-one appointments, using the Blue Hen Success (BHS) platform.
    • Specific class details, subjects and tutor availability can be searched in BHS.
    • Standard peer tutoring rates are $12 for undergraduates and $15 for graduate-level support.
  • Free Drop-in Tutoring: no appointment necessary; first-come, first-served.
    • Drop-in tutoring begins September 12th
    • Drop-in tutoring is available Sunday – Friday, the schedule will be posted online.
    • Tutors are listed by subject and class (details posted on the online schedule).
  • Study Group Support: upon request, free tutors will join small private study groups of 3-6 students. The tutors can help the group review material and prepare for exams.
    • Students are expected to create and organize their own study group; one member makes a request on behalf of the group (requires 10 days’ notice).
  • Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS): a series of ongoing weekly study sessions for students taking targeted courses. Provides a learning opportunity for all students who want to improve their understanding of course material and improve their grades.
    • Study sessions are offered up to 3 times/week: students will review concepts, practice material, and prepare for exams (specific session details are on the website).
  • TutorFind Directory: Students are encouraged to visit these tutor profiles to learn more about tutors’ backgrounds/experience. Includes photo, major, subject specialties and much more.
  • Tutor Hiring: The OAE hires year-round. Position details and application on website.

Academic Support

  • Academic Coaching: individual appointments to help students assess their current strategies/approaches to their classes. A holistic approach explores academic and any non-academic challenges students may be facing. Appointments can be made in Blue Hen Success.
  • Coaching Drop-ins: Five days a week, coaches have hours set aside to work with students who have questions about finding effective strategies for their academic challenges (schedule posted on webpage).
  • Self-guided Workshops: detailed time management/study skills workshops that students can read through at their own pace. Each includes a Putting it into Practice piece for students to complete a task which the professor can then review.
  • Scheduled, live workshops (Zoom): A schedule of workshops covering a range of academic skills topics can be found on the website.
