The Smithsonian Gardens have multiple internship positions available in horticulture, greenhouse and interiorscapes production, orchid collections where interns will not only work with the orchids but assist in a massive virus testing effort currently being undertaken, and plant health specialist internship that will focus on integrated pest management, pest identification, and biological control implementation.
The deadline has been extended for the summer applications, to February 15th for online application submissions. Internships generally run for 8-12 weeks depending on the needs of the student. Internships usually begin in either May or June and weekly stipends are granted based on the needs of the student should they get accepted.
