If you have McAfee installed on a University-managed device, your IT pro will uninstall McAfee and provide you with another anti-virus solution.

If you are using a UD-licensed version of McAfee on a personal device, you will need to complete the following steps before June 30, 2019.

  1. Uninstall your UD-licensed McAfee software.
  2. Install anti-virus software on your computer. For free solutions we recommend using Windows Defender (Windows 10) or the free version of Avast Security (macOS) on your personal systems.
  3. Windows versions prior to Windows 10 will require a separate antivirus solution. There are many free and low-cost options available online. If you need help finding one, please contact the IT Support Center.

Using anti-virus software is an important step in protecting you and your data. Faculty and staff are also required to run anti-virus software on any computers either owned by the University or used to process University information.

If you need assistance, contact the IT Support Center by submitting a help request, emailing consult@udel.edu, or calling (302) 831-6000.
