Blue Hen Sports Cage is the flagship sports talk radio show for 91.3 WVUD FM Newark. The show, which airs every Thursday from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. EST on WVUD, features discussions on collegiate and national sports, with a special focus on Delaware athletics.

Each week Brandon Holveck and Jake Lampert host and are joined by guests from the WVUD Sports department and Delaware athletes and coaches. You can learn more about the team here.

The name Blue Hen Sports Cage has been used by radio shows at WVUD dating back to the 1990s. The show has come and gone over the years, with a variety of hosts and formats. The first year of Blue Hen Sports Cage in its current format began on September 1st, 2016. In year one, Teddy Gelman, Ahmed Qadri and Brandon served as the full-time hosts with WVUD Sports department members Jake Lampert, Michael Baumohl, Eric Allen and Nick Cannella making periodic appearances. In the 2017-2018 academic year Jake joined Teddy, Ahmed and Brandon as a full-time co-host.

Past guests include, Delaware Athletic Director Chrissi Rawak, Delaware football Head Coach Danny Rocco, Delaware men’s basketball Head Coach Martin Ingelsby and New York Times best-selling author Jeff Pearlman.

The Delaware Football Roundup is a podcast from the WVUD Sports department, which breaks down each and every Delaware football game. For the 2017 season, Teddy Gelman and Brandon Holveck co-hosted the podcast, which took home top honors in the podcast category of both the Delaware Press Association’s annual communication contest and the National Federation of Press Women’s annual contest.
