E-Week Penny Wars!

This year, as a part of National Engineers Week, we have decided to take the theme of “Inspiring Wonder” and run with it. A new installment to this year’s EWeek activities, Engineers Without Borders and Tau Beta Pi, along with help of the EWeek Conveners, have decided to hold a Penny Wars fundraiser, pitting all departments against each other (in a good way)! The beneficiary of this fundraiser will be 4You! th Productions. Nick Martin, a UD CHEG Alum, serves on the board of this non-profit organization.

4Youth Productions fosters the development of underprivileged youth through educational programs. The purpose of this fundraiser would to support the organization in their activities and scholarship fund. To find out more please visit their website at: http://four! youth.org/

We will be happy to collect your coins or bills for the “War” starting TOMORROW, Wednesday, February 14 and continuing through Friday, February 23 in 141 P.S. DuPont Hall. We will provide balance updates throughout the week, with the winning department being announced at the culminating EWeek Student Banquet on Saturday, February 24.

Here are the rules:
All coins count as positive points: (1 penny = 1 point, 1 quarter = 25 points)

Dollar bills can be used to sabotage: ($1 = -100 points, $20 = -2000 points)

Developing the habit of giving back to our communities now or in the future, whether that is to the University or organizations such as 4Youth Productions, is a wonderful way to pay it forward. So, let’s see which department is able to inspire the most wonder!

UPDATE: This year we raised over $150 for 4Youth Productions! Thank you to everyone who donated!
