Important:

Sakai will be retired on December 21, 2018 at NOON. You will no longer be able to log in or use Sakai as your LMS.

To avoid data loss, download or migrate all data you wish to keep before December 15, 2018.

Backing up your MyWorkspace Files

All Sakai users (faculty, students, and staff) have a My Workspace, an independent space for sharing files and managing profiles.  The files stored in this space are not part of a specific course or project, but instead, are files stored in your own private workspace that only you can access.  If you have files saved in your My Workspace you would like to access after the migration, you must download them to an alternative location.  Not everyone will have used this feature, but if you are unsure, click on Resources from your My Workspace to check to see if you have any files.

To download My Workspace files:

  • If you only have a few files, open the files individually and save them.

– or –

  • If you have a lot of files, click the Upload-Download Multiple Resources button from toolbar at the top of the Resources page.
  • Follow the instructions on the page displayed to download and install a file transfer program which you can use to download files to a folder on your desktop.  Use this video tutorial as an example if you need more help.

Please remember to download all materials to another storage location prior to December 15, 2018, to avoid data loss.
