Still teaching in Sakai this fall? No problem, but you don’t have to wait until December to migrate your course(s) to Canvas. You can do that now, even though you are still using Sakai. The migration tool will copy course materials from your existing Sakai sites to Canvas staging sites. The tool can copy content from the Sakai Assignments, Resources, and the Tests & Quizzes tools. Remember, you will not have any access to Sakai after December 21, 2018.

If you prefer to get some one-on-one help with migrating Sakai courses, learning about Canvas, or integrating iClickers with Canvas, we have planned extended hours in the Faculty Commons for two Tuesday evenings in October. We hope this will make it more convenient for all faculty, especially our adjuncts.

  • Tuesday, October 9th – 8:30 am – 6:30 pm
  • Tuesday, October 23rd – 8:30 am – 6:30 pm

Also on the calendar is the First Friday Roundtable: The Procrastinator’s Guide to Canvas, on November 2nd. This session is specifically for those Sakai users who have not yet migrated to Canvas. The Center for Teaching and Assessment of Learning has more information and a link to register on their website.

If you are still hesitant about what you need to do before December, consider scheduling a consultation virtually or in-person with one of our T2C consultants. We are here to make the transition as seamless as possible!

Migration tool statistics up to September 17, 2018.
