Agent Letter: August 2020

Dear 4-H Families,

I hope you all are healthy and well!  This summer has been different than most, but we are happy to say it was still filled with lots of 4-H activities!   4-H members statewide have been able to participate in a variety of virtual activities:  State Camp, Day Camps, Science Workshops, Virtual State Fair entries and more!  We appreciate all of our families being flexible and patient as we navigate these new waters!

  • 4-H Activity Restrictions
    • As we review the current COVID-19 situation, we need to update all clubs that current
4-H programming restrictions will remain in place until further notice
.  This decision is made out of an abundance of care and with the priority of protecting the health and safety of our 4-H participants, families, volunteers and staff.  We will continue to monitor the current situation and advise club leaders as soon as any 4-H programming can begin again with our youth.
    • Please be aware that virtual programming is still acceptable.  We are all in this together and want to provide as many activities as possible to continue to make a positive impact on our youth members!

With the new 4-H year starting in September, there are lots of activities and events to look forward to.  Clubs will start meeting again virtually and we are planning for other annual events such as the Achievement Event and Pumpkin Contest.

Thank you to the clubs who submit a club reports each month, please keep them coming!  Be sure to submit your club news to Tammy or myself by the 25th of each month.  Include a fun activity, projects completed, and photos of your club in action.  We love to see and share what each club is doing!

During this time and throughout the year, please remember to check your email and the online newsletter regularly for news and updates.  Be sure to sign up for events (county and statewide) by the posted deadlines.  Please feel free to call or email me if you have any new ideas, suggestions, or concerns about 4-H programming.  I am always willing to listen and love hearing new ideas for our members and clubs!

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Yours in 4-H,
Jill Jackson
