Favorite Foods—Foods Judging Contest
Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013  10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sussex Tech High School

Participants will have a busy day, rising early to make their pre-registered from one the following categories: Breads, Meat and Main Dish, Dessert, Fruits or Vegetables, Appetizers and Hors d’ouevres, or Special Diet. But they don’t stop there. Contestants plan a menu to complement their selection, create a pleasing place setting, and prepare to answer live questions from a judge who will also sample a taste of the foods entry.

After judging, participants may test their overall knowledge and skills at the Foods & Nutrition Judging Contest. Highest scores in each age division will advance to the state judging contest held during the Delaware State Fair.  Local media is invited to cover this event

The Favorite Foods venue provides an excellent opportunity for youth to practice (and parents to orient themselves with) other upcoming 4-H judging contests. Separate locations are set aside to practice your skill set in:
