Lucky Leaf 4-H – Ashley Romanowski, Reporter
Hello everyone! Our March meeting was very busy! I hope everyone had fun! The Lucky Leaf and Little Creek Clovers did a fun Easter craft.  Awesome job to Meredith, Elise, Sam, and Noel for participating in the Favorite Foods Contest. The Spaghetti dinner went very well. We discussed the upcoming events: Sussex County Demonstrations Contest, State 4H Camp dates, The Delaware Indoor Archery Championship, Jr. Leader weekend, and the 4-H science career exploration series -discovering the ocean.  Meredith presented her project book cooking demonstration and made delicious pizza pockets. For Carson’s Dimond clover project we will be volunteering at HALO in place of our normal meeting and instead of dinner we will be helping to pack lunches or organize food items. The meeting was concluded with a healthy snack from Ashley and Lauren Romanowski. The next meeting is Thursday, April 4th at HALO!

The participants discussed the dinner and they said they enjoyed the food. Chloe attended the Horse Bowl. She won an award. We discussed the upcoming community service project, which was the Quarter Auction for Relay For Life. Jase, Jaxson, Brooklyn and Makenna planned to attend. Legislative Day was discussed and many members had interest in attending. Many members seemed excited about the upcoming camps. Our monthly nursing home was postponed due to renovations. When the meeting ended, we had a turtle shaped snack that included a half an apple, peanut butter, grapes, and raisins.

For Seaford Blue Jays March meeting we talked about what we wanted to do in spring and our favorite ice cream flavor. We discussed all the future events including the spaghetti dinner. Our basket ended up getting the highest bid. Many of our members attended the Favorite Foods event.  They all won a blue ribbon and many won trophies. After the meeting Olivia Shultie gave us her speech about her cat. We also made a stain glass clover which we can enter in the fair. Finally, we had a healthy snack.

Clover Knights – Abby Frost, Reporter
Clover Knights have been lucky to welcome some new members lately our newest member we would like to give a big welcome to is Savannah Ramsey. We also had 7 guests come to our meeting this month.  Hopefully they will decide to make the Clover Knights their permanent club. Our stained-glass project turned out great everyone did a wonderful job. We have a great fundraiser going on our club is selling Easter/spring flowers until April 5 anyone interested in purchasing these flowers can get in touch with a Clover Knights member.  Flowers will cost $6. We are working on our spring date for adopt-a-highway cleanup. There are many spring/summer events coming up make sure to check the newsletter for camps, events, and contests. We would like to give a big thanks to Mr. Eddie Sparpaglione for leading the awesome string art club project and Mr. Bo Dukes and Mr. Osbourne for cutting and donating the wood.  Also, thank you to Mrs. Kim Elliott for putting together and leading the stained-glass project.

Lower Delaware Archers – Riley Osborne, Reporter
We did not have much news this month other than we have a new logo design picked out since our Lar logo did not work out. We are going to be setting up thelines like they will be for the upcoming Delaware 4-H indoor competition that will be held on the 30th of March at the Gumboro Bay Shore Community Church. The next practice we will have iPads to practice the scoring so it is not so overwhelming when we have to do it for competition. Along with the iPads, we are doing groups of four to verify scores and we will be doing four waves ABCD. We have shirt ideas, with a logo and we will try to all be wearing them at the 30th archery shoot. We have two more indoor practices then we will be going back outside!! That means warm weather has to be coming!! That’s all for this month!

Country Clovers – Eddie Noon, Reporter

In the month of March, the Country Clovers did a lot of horse-ing around!

On March 6, we had a fun practice with the East Coast Horse Club and got to play a horse Jeopardy game!  We had three teams participate in the 4-H Horse Bowl on March 9, and all three teams placed in their division. Angelo and Emily won first place in the beginner division as the Munchkins. Then in the Intermediate division, Daniel, Chloe, and Hailey won first place as the Happy Riders while Cate, Sophie, and Eddie won second as the Happy View Clovers.

Emily, Danielle, and Eddie also went to an Arabian horse judging clinic on March 16, at Adandy Farms in Greenwood, DE. We learned about how to judge the Arabian horse and got to see some amazingly beautiful horses.

Cathy Vincent, the owner of Adandy Farm, shows us what an Arabian National Champion Halter mare looks like.

Thanks to ALL the 4-H volunteers who helped to make all this happen!
