Agent Letter: October 2018

Dear Sussex 4-H Families,

Fall has finally arrived and brought many 4-H activities!  October 4-H Events include:  National 4-H Week, Window Display Contest, National 4-H Youth Science Day, Archery Shoots, Pumpkin Contest and Younger Member Fall Retreat.

4-H:  Where Adventures Begin! was the theme for the Achievement Event held on September 30.  Over one hundred eighty people enjoyed the awards presentations and desserts.  The event was a hit!

Sharon Anderson, Dairy Club Leader was presented with the Joy Sparks Spirit of 4-H Award.  The Sussex 4-H 2018 National 4-H Club Congress delegate is:  Kyle Morris.  Sussex 4-H also presented the 4-H Sprit Award to six very deserving individuals:  Ruby DiSabatino, Zane Adams, Emma Sparpaglione, Kyle Morris, Kylee Reynolds and Jodie Gravenor.  Congratulations to all the award recipients! More details about the program can be found further in the newsletter.

Please be sure to read all the posts in the newsletter and be sure to mark your calendars with all of the exciting 4-H activities!

Leaders – Please be sure to forward all emails from the 4-H Office to your club members.  With the 4-H year just starting, we do not have all contact information and do not want any members missing out on opportunities!

Fall is a time of to reflect on the past and look forward to the future!  I encourage all members, leaders, and volunteers to try new things both inside and outside of 4-H.  Participate in new events, make new friends, volunteer, market 4-H, and invite a friend to become a 4-H member.  You never know how much you will like something until you try it!

Looking forward to seeing you at the next 4-H event!

Yours in 4-H,
Jill Jackson
Extension Educator, 4-H
