Georgetown Day Camp 2018

The 2018 4-H Summer Day Camp in Georgetown went off without a glitch. The “Fairy Tale” theme provided 60 campers and 22 counselors and counselors in training (CIT) with a great opportunity to learn about many different things.

Thank you to the following for giving wonderful assemblies: Rehoboth Summer Children’s Theatre and the 2018 Delaware Dairy Princess – Leslie Webb.
During day camp, the children were able to make magical themed crafts such as fire breathing dragons, castles, unicorns and hand painted bags. The campers had fun while they learned new how to make homemade playdoh, making s’mores with a pizza box oven and improved their health and fitness skills. During the foods class, campers enjoyed making afternoon snacks of caramel covered apples, fruit kabob wands and decorated cupcakes to look like mushrooms. There was also a Water Day where campers and counselors enjoyed a water slide, relays, and a water fight. The week concluded with a Closing Assembly and all groups did very well reciting their songs, skits, and yells!

Our camp would not have been a success without the hard work of our counselors and adult volunteers. We would like to thank the following 4-H’ers for giving up their time to be a counselor at our Day Camp. The counselors did an excellent job and helped the camp run smoothly; Shawn Mitchell, Brittany Carpenter, Rebecca Arpie, Zane Adams, Taylor Messick, Daniel Tull, Madison Rice, Caden Dickerson, Jenna Anger, Kyle Morris, Rebecca Lenhart, Samantha Messick, Destiny Carmona, Erin Carey, Kate Rohlfing, Matison Smith, Megan Wilson, Wesley DeFord, Seth Genshaw, Diamond Carmona, Jacob Maske, and Sarah Krajewski.
