Agent Letter: March 2018

I hope all of you are staying well!  I know many will agree with me that they are ready for spring and warmer temperatures. Daylight savings time begins on Sunday, March 11. Don’t forget to turn your clocks ahead one hour!

THANK YOU is not enough to say for all the support that was felt at our 3rd Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Auction!  From the donors and guests to the volunteers who helped make this event a success!  We appreciate each one of you!

The 4-H world is gearing up with many activities and events.  In February, many 4-Hers and their families participated in the Favorite Foods Contest along with Foods & Nutrition Judging, Crafts, Lima Bean tasting and much more!   4-H members will be busy on Saturday, March 10, at the Horse Bowl.  Sunday, March 11, is the first Archery Shoot for the spring.  Be sure to sign up to participate in this event.  The Photography and Wood Science Judging Contests have been scheduled for Wednesday, March 14 and the Demonstration Contest will be held on March 14 and 15.  Make up dates for judging contests are also available if you cannot attend on March 14.  Please contact us to schedule a date/time.  Jr. Leader Weekend will take place March 23-25.

Congratulations to our Sussex Salute to Excellence Winners.  Jodie Gravenor, Cypress Heart and Hands 4-H Club Leader, received the Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award.  Dana Probert, Sunset Branch 4-H Club Leader, received the Volunteer of the Year Award.  Hats off to these wonderful adult leaders!

A Friendly Reminder – Please be sure to submit your club news to Tammy or myself by the 25th of each month.  Include a fun activity, projects completed, and photos of your club in actions.  We love to see and share what each club is doing!

Looking forward to seeing you at the next 4-H event!
