Dear Sussex 4-H Family,

Fall has finally arrived and brought many 4-H activities!  October 4-H Events include:  National 4-H Week, Window Display Contest, National 4-H Youth Science Day, Jr. Leader Fall Retreat, Archery Shoot, Pumpkin Contest and Younger Member Fall Retreat.

4-H Rocks! was the theme for the Achievement Event held on September 23.  Over one hundred ninety people enjoyed the meal and awards presentations.  The event was a hit!  Gail Tipton, Rossakatum 4-H Club Leader was presented with the Joy Sparks Spirit of 4-H Award.  The Sussex 4-H 2017 National 4-H Club Congress delegates are:  Jill Koski, Matison Smith and Taylor Wroten.  Sussex 4-H also presented the 4-H Sprit Award to six very deserving individuals:  Brittany Carpenter, Devon Allen, Kaitlyn Johnson, Destiny Carmona, Rebecca Arpie and Carole Vincent.  Congratulations to all the award recipients! Leaders – Please be sure to forward all emails from the 4-H Office to your club members.  With the 4-H year just starting, we do not have all contact information and do not want any members missing out on opportunities!

Fall is a time of to reflect on the past and look forward to the future!  I encourage all members, leaders, and volunteers to try new things both inside and outside of 4-H.  Participate in new events, make new friends, volunteer, market 4-H, and invite a friend to become a 4-H member.  You never know how much you will like something until you try it!
