February is full of important events: Black History Month, American Heart Month, Super Bowl, Valentine’s Day and President’s Day. It is important to remember and honor those who have had an impact on our Nation and to show our love and appreciation for others.
Sussex 4-H February events include: State Leader’s Forum, Favorite Foods, Foods Judging, Photography and Graphic Arts Contests, and our 2nd Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Auction. Special Meetings taking place will be Bluebird Nesting House Workshop, Horse Bowl Training, Dairy Club, Robotics Club and Sussex 4-H Tech Club.
Jenna Anger, Bridgeville Mustangs, is one of eight 4-H members who will represent Delaware at the 2017 National Youth Summit on Healthy Living February 17-20. This summit lets high school students develop the knowledge and skills to address today’s issues, including nutrition education, physical fitness, wellness, and emotional well-being.
Congratulations to our National 4-H Conference delegate: Rebecca Arpie, Cypress Heart & Hands. This young woman will travel to Washington, DC in April with other 4-H’ers from across the nation to discuss and brainstorm ways to solve a variety of issues pertaining to youth.
Thank you to all 4-H Leaders and families who have reached out to our Administrative Assistant, Tammy Schirmer in the loss of her husband. The love and support is greatly felt!
A Friendly Reminder – Please be sure to submit your club news to Tammy or myself by the 25th of each month. Include a fun activity, projects completed, and photos of your club in actions. We love to see and share what each club is doing!
Looking forward to seeing you at the next 4-H event!
Yours in 4-H,
Jill Jackson
